For the implementation of the project we will start from the experimental results already obtained in the consortium regarding the fundamental research on ZnO powders (TRL 2), thus developing a new experimental model of ZnO powders (TRL) 3).<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the project implementation will be achieved by laboratory validation of the technology \/ product (TRL 4).<\/p>\n<p>Testing and validation of laboratory models of ZnO powder type will be obtained by investigating the physicochemical properties and antimicrobial activity. In vivo tests for their antimycrobial activity will also be performed.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the behavior of ZnO under <em>in vitro<\/em> conditions will be observed by immersing them in a simulated physiological fluid (SBF) solution. On the other hand, comparative studies will be performed between the <em>in vivo<\/em> response to local treatment with betadine and hydrogen peroxide, respectively to the treatment with ZnO powders.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The general objective: the development of ZnO powders for possible applications in the local treatment of wound infections.<\/p>\n<p>Specific objectives:<\/p>\n<p>O1 &#8211; Development of the procedure for the synthesis of ZnO powders by the hydrothermal method and the hydrothermal method in the microwave field;<\/p>\n<p>O2 &#8211; Chemical and morphological characterization of ZnO powders;<\/p>\n<p>O3 &#8211; Elaboration of an experimental model by selecting the optimal synthesis conditions;<\/p>\n<p>O4 &#8211; <em>In vitro<\/em> testing of ZnO powders by immersion in SBF solution;<\/p>\n<p>O5 &#8211; Study of the physico-chemical properties of ZnO powders after immersion in SBF solution;<\/p>\n<p>O6 &#8211;
